It has been a long time since Ajay Devgn took up romance, but that streak is set to end. Devgn has signed on for Luv Ranjan's next production. Currently busy with Baadshaho, Devgn is set to step into the genre of romance again. The film is reported to be a quirky take on urban relationships.
The news was confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter. Adarsh wrote:

The film will also mark the directorial debut of award-winning editor, Akiv Ali. Ali has worked as editor on films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Kaabil (2016) and the soon-to-release Jagga Jasoos (2017). It will be produced by Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
Talking about the casting for the film, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama director said, "The way I see it, it’s the side of Ajay that comes most naturally to him. His uber cool personality in real life has seldom been explored. There is a subtlety in his humour that blends perfectly with my writing."
While the first look of the film has Devgn looking his stylish self, the mysterious woman in the background has evinced some interest. There has been no news of the leading lady for the film yet.
Having had his fill of high-octane action films, including his directorial Shivaay (2016), Devgn seems to be returning to the genre of romance in the effort to try something different. It might be interesting to see how it works out.
