R Madhavan to play pilot in Sushant Singh Rajput's Chanda Mama Door Ke 

His role as the fighter pilot in Rang De Basanti (2005) made quite an impact on audiences, and now R Madhavan is set to return to the cockpit alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in Chanda Mama Door Ke. The adventure film about a man's dream to be an astronaut is likely to have Madhavan play an astronaut or a pilot. Produced by Viki Rajani and Eros, the film is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and has Rajput, Nawazuddin Siddiqui in important roles. 

The addition of Madhavan to the cast has already created some excitement, notably for Rajput himself. The M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story actor tweeted out an immediate welcome to his co-star, declaring himself to be a 'fan'. He wrote, "I’ve been your fan since a long time. Can’t wait to start working with you bro' 

Apparently, the feeling is mutual. Madhavan tweeted back his own appreciation. 

Madhavan has prior experience playing a pilot famously in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Rang De Basanti (2005), and during his early years on national television in the series, Sea Hawks. However, the actor said that he will be undergoing training in flight simulators to prepare. Speaking to a leading daily, he said, "...we will be working on the simulators." 

As far as adventure films go, this one looks quite promising. Chanda Mama Door Ke is being prepared for a release in January 2018.
