The Naam Shabana poster promises a high-octane action thriller.

The fever of sequels is running high in mainstream Hindi cinema and it seems it is not going to die any time soon. But we have hardly seen any prequels in our part of the world. Naam Shabana is one such rare prequel. It’s the first part of Neeraj Pandey’s successful action drama, Baby (2015), which starred Akshay Kumar in the lead.

Taapsee Pannu played an extended cameo in Baby. She is one of the secret RAW agents from Akshay’s team, who played a role in bringing the most wanted terrorist alive in India. The first poster of Naam Shabana has just come out.

But Naam Shabana will look into Taapsee’s character before Baby happened. It will feature her solo story as to how she was a part of another mission, which made her a part of the mission in Baby. Akshay plays a cameo in the film.

The poster gives a clear idea that the film is another action adventure. Taapsee features twice on it in a couple of action sequences. It also has Prithvi Sukumaran. Known for his act in Aiyya (2012), opposite Rani Mukerji, he plays a pivotal role in the film.

Naam Shabana also stars Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher, who are reprising their characters from Baby. Manoj Bajpayee, who also features on the poster, is an addition to the cast.

Instead of Pandey, the film is directed by Shivam Nair. He is known for his 2008 thriller, Maharathi. Pandey has helmed the responsibility of the writer.

Naam Shabana is all set to release on 3 March.
