Taapsee Pannu tackles ‘Mannerless Majnu’ in Running Shaadi.com's love anthem

Running Shaadi.com has that typical north Indian small-town flavour, which is evident from the film’s trailer. ‘Mannerless Majnu', its latest song, reinforces that. It features the film’s leading pair, Taapsee Pannu and Amit Sadh. 

The title ‘Mannerless Majnu’ gives a feeling of a stalker. In recent years, mainstream Hindi cinema has been accused of passing off stalking as romance. Thankfully though, this 'love anthem' from RunningShaadi.com doesn’t endorse any such behaviour. It only display’s the guy’s feelings for the girl. He is shown to be one love-struck creature. 

Lyricist Manoj Yadav has come up with a smart mixture of modern and desi words. The song has English words as well as pure Hindi words. Singer Sukanya Purkayastha’s voice perfectly suits this kind of song. She has brought out her nasal tone as per the requirement. Composers Abhishek and Akshay have given the right flavour of sounds. 

Taapsee and Sadh look believable as an ordinary girl and boy from this part of the world. The video also has a portion where the song goes back in time to when the two were adolescents. While the two look young, but it’s certainly unintentionally funny to see Taapsee in a school uniform. 

Directed by debutant Amit Roy, Running Shaadi.com will be releasing on 17 February.
