There was a time when Salman Khan had a series of flop films. But post-Dabangg (2010), his career graph seems to be moving only in the upward direction. Today, commercially, he is easily one of the biggest superstars to have emerged from India. But it was in Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) that he was appreciated for his acting skills.
He will be seen in the same director’s next film, Tubelight, which is slated to be released during the Eid festivities this year, on 23 June. In a recent media interaction, Kabir said that he rated Salman’s performance in Tubelight higher than in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
He said, “Salman will be very different in Tubelight. If people thought he was different in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, here he is five steps ahead.”
The filmmaker also revealed that shooting this film has been his biggest challenge till date. “I shoot a lot in outdoor locations, this time I shot in the mountains of Ladakh. That must've been physically the most challenging to shoot.”
But they have almost wrapped up the film. He added, “We have completed the film. Only a day's shoot is left. Eid is on 26 June so we are coming on 23 June.”
Tubelight is the first Indo-Chinese venture. It marks the Hindi film debut of Chinese actress, Zhu Zhu.
