Earlier in the month, a well-known Malayalam actress was allegedly abducted and molested inside a car. The incident sent shockwaves not only in the film industry but the entire country. The fact that a celebrity can be a victim to such a crime also created an atmosphere of panic.
The actress has now spoken about the incident for the first time in a social media post. She said, “Life has knocked me down a few times, it showed me things I never wanted to see.I experienced sadness and failures.” The post was shared by her friend and co-actor, Prithviraj Sukumaran.
But she also added that her courage isn’t broken yet and has thanked the audience for their support. “But one thing for sure,I always get up ! #ThankYouAll #ForTheLove #ForThePrayers,” she added.
The incident took place on 17 February at Kerala’s Ernakulam district when the actress’ car was stopped by a group of men. The driver of her car was thrown out, after which the miscreants allegedly molested the actress inside the running vehicle.
The police soon arrested one of the accused named Martin, who was the actress’ former driver. After a few days, they arrested another accused from the house of a young actor-director. A prominent actor from the Malayalam film industry was also questioned by the police.
The actress has already started shooting for her next Malayalam film with Prithviraj. She is also expected to start shooting for a Kannada film in the first week of March.
