Social media trolls can get nasty. Actresses Ayesha Takia and Disha Patani were the latest to fall prey to Twitter trolls. While Takia was mocked for her new look by being compared to international reality TV star Kim Kardashian, Patani was trolled for wearing a cleavage-revealing outfit to an event. Both the actresses took to their respective Instagram accounts to slam their critics.
Citing a quote by noted American dancer and model Dita Von Teese, Takia chose to downplay the nasty trolls. She went on to share more selfies of her new look.
Takia also posted a message for all to stop selfie-shaming.
“All you girls n guys who love yourself enough to take your own picture and feel good about it should be proud. Don't let anyone tell you to dim your confidence and self love. We live in a world of judgements and bullying, so we need to rise above that and just be who we are and be proud of it. Love yourself,” Takia said in one of her posts.
The 30-year-old was last seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in Paathshala (2010), a year after she married Farhan Azmi, son of Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi.
Meanhwile, Patani came down heavily on the trolls posting a stinging reply through an Instagram post.
"It's easier to judge a woman on the basis of how much they cover up their skin, but it's hard to accept your own cheap mentality where you can't stop staring at those inappropriate areas which you were asking her to cover," Patani said in her Instagram post.
The message was posted not just for Patani's trolls, but also for the man who was seated next to her and ogling at her cleavage.
