Parineeti Chopra is yet to join Rohit Shetty on the sets of Golmaal 4, but she is already racking up some quality skills. The actress has now become a certified scuba diver.

Admittedly a fan of the open waters, Chopra recently received a certificate for an open-water diving course and is now eligible to dive up to 120 feet in the open seas. The actress has reportedly expressed enthusiasm in pursuing the course further and will be soon applying for an advanced course for scuba-diving at night.

Speaking about her experience, Chopra said to a daily, "Diving is an exhilarating experience. The feeling of weightlessness and seeing fish, sharks and colourful plants is surreal. I now want to explore the sea at night. I'm told that the sea glows in fluorescent colours." The actress was hooked on to scuba diving after experiencing it for the first time during her recent vacation in Bali. It was later, at the insistence of her trainer Anees Adenwala, that Chopra decided to take it up as a professional course. Adenwala has been a scuba diver for 15 years and has also overseen the shooting of several underwater sequences in Hindi films.

The actress has since taken up scuba diving during several of her overseas trips, exploring places like the Caroline Islands in Micronesia, and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, or the Galapagos islands in New Zealand. Chopra said, "Every year, either for work or vacation, I travel to five-six places. I love meeting strangers on a boat, exploring the sea and sharing experiences with them. Diving is not as gruelling a sport as it is a leisure activity."

The training might come in handy, seeing how Chopra is set to join the band of boys on Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 4. The actress is reportedly playing a quirky character with her share of kicking and punching stunts. The film is expected to go on floors by 9 March, with Hyderabad's Ramoji City, Mumbai's Film City, Goa and Ooty among the locations for the shooting.
