Shah Rukh Khan flags off Sonakshi, Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Ittefaq with first clap

Shah Rukh Khan was on the set of Ittefaq, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra, to kickstart the shooting with the first clapping of the clapperboard. The film is co-produced by Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and friend Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. 

Late BR Chopra's grandson, Abhay Chopra will direct Ittefaq, which is the remake of director Yash Chopra's 1969 murder mystery of the same name. The original Ittefaq had Rajesh Khanna and Nanda in the lead roles.  

Dressed casually, Khan posed with the lead pair of Ittefaq and director Abhay to kickstart the proceedings. 

Ittefaq is Abhay's first film as director. "I'm going to direct a film. It's a remake of Ittefaq. The film is at the writing stage now. The film will hit the floors by the end of this year," Abhay had told Filmfare.com in 2014.

Ittefaq is likely to release in 2018.
