When Karan Johar invited Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan to season 5 of his Koffee with Karan talk show, he would have not expected such firepower. In a departure from the pally, jolly, guests who have arrived on the show so far, Ranaut charmed the audience by being her fierce, honest self. Beside her, Saif's diplomacy felt almost pale in comparison. Here are 10 ways the actress took over the couch in her true 'Queen' style.
Kangana Ranaut: Pressure of Queen is high, people still not out of it
When she proved both Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra wrong
There are few directors who claim to possess the eye of judging talent like Aditya Chopra or Karan Johar. Yet, both directors made some serious bloopers in judging the caliber of Ranaut's talent. Ranaut revealed how Chopra, after her success in Queen, told her, "I remember when you came into this office with Rikku Rakeshnath, and I told him, 'Nothing is going to happen with this girl...and I am glad you proved me wrong." Chopra was not alone. Even Johar admitted that he did not make much of Ranaut's initial success. Pat came the reply, "You are the driving force of my success, Karan." You don't mess with the Queen!
The hatke dukaan
While Johar is known to be pally with the entire film industry, Ranaut is a different element altogether. On being asked about her, in Johar's terms, 'hatke dukaan', Ranaut replied, "I think that's who I am. Also because I come from a different background and with stardom, this profession, comes a lot of abnormalities...I try to normalise things." The Rangoon actress also confessed that she doesn't have any friends in the industry.
The Taimur explanation
The entire controversy on the birth of Saif's son notwithstanding, there was a decent explanation from Saif for the name. "All the people in my family are named after someone else. The name Taimur, is a Persian word for iron." While Saif played it safe, it was Ranaut who took up the stance, "It is not right for a newborn to be subject to such scrutiny," she said.
The 'value' statement
Ranaut has always been a woman of her own mind, and her reasoning is quite solid. On being asked by Johar as to why she stays away from award functions, she replied, "I don't do stage shows, so I lose out on a lot of money. I don't do fairness creams, so I lose out on a lot of international brands that could come my way. You let that go for something more valuable, which is my values."
Her takedown of Karan Johar

You don't go on Johar's show and mock Johar to the face unless you are Kangana Ranaut. The actress did a blatant takedown of the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... director, which was only sweetened by the smile it came with. Talking about her biopic, Ranaut said, "In my biopic, if it ever gets made, you will play that typical Bollywood biggie who is snooty and completely intolerant to outsiders, flag-bearer of nepotism, movie mafia…" She wasn't done. In the rapid fire round, she pointed out that Johar has 'verbal diarrhoea'.
On creative conflicts
Ranaut said, "Creative conflicts are a part of the craft, and I do not mind that at all. I fight with my directors a lot. If my set doesn't have creative conflict, it is not right." She even dissed any director who tries to be authoritarian. "They don't like me, and I don't like them back," she said.
Saif' wrong choice
As an actor Saif might have missed a number of roles, but it was Shakun Batra's Kapoor & Sons that came up to haunt him on Johar's couch. Johar revealed that the actor was offered Fawad Khan's role in the film, which he rejected. Saif shrugged before saying, "The wife (Kareena Kapoor Khan) at home was going 'you are being incredibly stupid. Shakun is the best director you will ever work with." Even Ranaut went, "I would have loved to see you in that role." All Saif could dodge with was "Another time, please."
That Dangal moment
When it came to the coffee shots, Ranaut was on fire. From admitting to having been kissed by a girl, to making out under the stars, the actress was fearless in her attitude. But the best of it was in declaring her jealousy for Dangal. "Dangal made so much money!! 700 crores?", she mused.
Shah Rukh Khan? Salman Khan? Or Aamir Khan?
"None" declared Ranaut, when it came to choosing between the three big Khans. "I don't want to do a film where I don't have an equal role," said the Queen actress. Fair enough! Although she will be starring alongside a Khan, Saif Ali Khan, in Rangoon.
Finding true love
Kangana Ranaut has quite an eccentric take on life and love! #KoffeeWithKangana pic.twitter.com/EI5LStpO9b

The actress has never been lucky in terms of love, but she wasn't afraid to talk about it. In a simple sentence, she answered, "If you have love, you will lead a rich life." Not much to argue about there!
