Actor Govinda is making a comeback after a long time as the main lead in Aa Gaya Hero. During the trailer launch of the film, he attributed his turn towards politics as the reason for not being able to concentrate much on films.

"I didn’t know it would take so many years for me to return in front of you as a hero. It has been almost 15 years. In all these years, I had joined politics. I did films like Partner and Bhaagam Bhaag, but I wasn’t the hero in them. It is necessary to take right decisions when you are faced with a tough situation. So, I thought of taking the decision and be a hero again. I thought it was the right decision to quit politics,” he laughed.

Govinda highlighted that one should keep logic and reasoning away while watching a film like Aa Gaya Hero. “Please don’t apply your mind. Remember this is Govinda’s film. Remember this before coming to watch the film,” he added.

The event was graced by Govinda’s past actresses and good friends, Shilpa Shetty and Manisha Koirala. The latter was all praise for Govinda. Shetty too expressed the same and recalled the first time she met him.

“I didn’t give screen test for my first film, Baazigar. But for my first film (Aag, 1994) with Chi Chi (Govinda), I was called for a screen test by the director. Aankhen had released just then so there was a craze. I still remember people were falling over to get his autograph. That was the moment I felt, ‘Hero is here.’ And I forgot all my dialogues," she said.

But she also mentioned that it was also difficult to work with the Hero No. 1 actor. “I never felt nervous dancing with Prabhu Deva the way I felt with Chi Chi. He would learn the entire step in a minute while we used to rehearse for hours.” She also added, “But whatever I have learnt in the industry, it is because of my first teacher, Chi Chi.”

Aa Gaya Hero is all set to be released on 24 February.
