Badrinath Ki Dulhania song: Voice in 'Humsafar' not soothing to the ears

The makers of Badrinath Ki Dulhania have unveiled the romantic number 'Humsafar', penned, composed and crooned by Akhil Sachdeva, one of the three music directors on the film. Lyricist Ahmed Anees and Kumaar had given us the mesmerising 'Samjhawan' in Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt-starrer rom-com Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014). 

The second film in the franchise is also being directed by Shashank Khaitan, and has Dhawan and Bhatt in the lead roles.

'Humsafar' is Sachdeva’s only contribution to the film’s soundtrack. The lyrics are simple with the lover boy expressing his feelings to his girl and what she really means to him. Vaidehi (Alia) and Badri (Dhawan) traverse through exotic locations, also enjoying adventurous activities like zip-lining and riding on a jet ski. Bhatt and Dhawan's chemistry is worth taking a glance at. 

It's visually appealing, but what about the music and singing?

It appears like Sachdeva has tried bringing out the Atif Aslam in him through 'Humsafar' by bringing in stress in his voice. Sachdeva’s voice isn’t soothing to the ears. May be another singer could've done justice to the song. The vocals by the female voice (uncredited) completely outshine Sachdeva. The song takes a beating despite having a soothing melody.
