Tiger Shroff is a complete opposite of his father, Jackie. He doesn’t drink or smoke, and thus far in his short career, he's picked roles that speak more of his action and dancing talent. For the first time, Tiger is going to have shades of his dad in his upcoming film, Munna Michael.
Director Sabbir Khan gave a sneak peak of things to come from the 'Ding Dang' song.
What strikes you about Tiger’s image is the dressing style that was made famous by his dad from the time after he made his breakthrough in Subhash Ghai’s Hero (1983). The senior Shroff had the song 'Ding Dong' in Hero composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and crooned by Anuradha Paudwal and Manhar Udhas.
Tiger's character Munna Michael is dressed in trademark Jaggu Dada style — wearing a red bandana, with his shirt open and sleeves rolled up, and topped off with a vest and cool shades. The lone difference here is the bat-style dance move. Dance was never Jackie's forte, who stood out instead for his uber cool image of tapori (rowdy).
Speaking about the song, director Khan said, “We styled Tiger in a manner similar to his father back in the day. The dance moves have also been designed keeping Jaggu Dada in mind. Tiger resembles his dad from the film Hero in this number and also spoken in the lukka lingo and does it well”.
Tiger’s mother Ayesha Shroff, who has witnessed her son and husband’s careers, says, “Tiger is as old as his father when he acted in Hero, Tiger started out younger though. When I saw the song he shot for last week, I was stunned. He has paid homage to Jackie and how!”
Munna Michael is an action-packed dance drama helmed by director Khan who once again teams up with Tiger after two consecutive hits, Heropanti (2014) and Baaghi (2016). The film is based on the story of Munna, a street boy from the locality Teen Batti in Mumbai, who loves dancing and grows up idolising the legendary singer-dancer, Michael Jackson. The romantic drama laced with stylised power-packed action promises to be a mass entertainer and is due to be released on 7 July 2017.
