Shah Rukh Khan's reel life just followed him out of the screen. Having played the anti-establishment, law-breaking gangster in Raees, the actor has ended up on the wrong side of the law in real life as well.

A case has been filed against Khan for allegedly damaging property at Kota railway station in Rajasthan during the promotion of the film on 24 January. The actor had briefly halted at Kota during his journey from Mumbai to Delhi to promote the film.

The case has been lodged by Vikram Singh, a food vendor at the station. According to reports, Singh said the actor hurled gifts from the train during the halt, causing a mad rush that resulted in his stall being upended. Singh said his trolley was scattered, money from his cart stolen, and he suffered injuries.

In a statement, Om Prakash, superintendent of police, government railway police (GRP), said, "Singh’s food cart was damaged in the chaos and he also suffered injuries for which he had to undergo treatment."

Raees review: Typical underworld entertainer with high dose of Shah Rukh Khan

The halt at Vadodara station in Gujarat during the promotion of Raees had also resulted in trouble. A local resident, Farid Khan Pathan, had suffered a heart attack in the melee of fans during the interaction with the star.

The case in Kota has been registered for causing damage to the amount of Rs50 (section 427 of the Indian Penal Code), criminal conspiracy (section 120B), rioting (section 147), every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed (section 149) and committing affray (section 160).

Provisions relating to causing nuisance (section 145 of the Railways Act), obstructing a railway servant in his duties (section 146 of the act) and mischief causing damage to public property (section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act) have also been applied, according to the reports.

Khan certainly has a way of making news even when he does not want to. The other prominent artistes in Raees were Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
