Box office: Jolly LLB 2 gets a boost on Valentine's Day

The Akshay Kumar-starrer courtroom drama bagged a nett of Rs8.75 crore on the first Tuesday since its release.

Valentine's Day is not an official holiday, but the festival of love brought in cheer for Jolly LLB 2. The film saw a 30% jump from its Monday collections to bag Rs8.75 crore nett on 14 February, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. On Monday, the Akshay Kumar-starrer had bagged a nett of Rs6.75 crore, a 60% drop from the film's collection of Rs19 crore on Sunday.

Made at an overall budget of Rs70 crore, including Rs15 crore for marketing and Kumar’s fees (Rs25 crore), Jolly LLB 2 has so far managed earnings of Rs62.50 crore nett. The film has released across 3,600 screens in India.

There's hope of steady collections on Wednesday and Thursday. A drop is expected on Friday as three films — Dharma Productions' The Ghazi Attack, Shoojit Sircar's Running Shaadi and the Arshad Warsi-starrer Irada — will hit the theatres.

Jolly LLB 2 crossing the Rs100-crore mark will depend on the number of screens that the three new releases get and how each of them perform at the box office.
