It’s Valentine’s Day and love is in the air. The internet is aflood with posts, videos and movies on love.

For some reason, Valentine's Day is associated with young couples celebrating their idea of love. But here is something refreshing to break the monotony. A short film starring Anupam Kher and Natasha Rastogi is making the rounds of the internet and it is indeed heartwarming.

Titled Kheer, the short film has been directed by Surya Balakrishnan and produced by Doodle Frames and Terribly Tiny Tales. It is about two senior citizens conversing in a humble, middle-class home. They are seen quarrelling over petty matters. Amidst this, the man’s grandchildren enter the house. This is when we get to know that the couple isn’t married. What is the relationship that they share?

The story sounds complicated. But the film is narrated in a simple manner. There is no scope for any sort of melodrama. The conversations are real and witty and take the story forward. It is indeed commendable how the director has handled such a different subject with maturity.

The film highlights the changing face of relationships even among older people and makes a statement on loneliness. It achieves this without saying much.

Kher again proves why he is one of the finest actors around. Rastogi has acted in quite a few Hindi films and television serials. She matches up to Kher, which is not easy.
