In a first for Hindi cinema, National Basketball Association (NBA), the world's top most basketball league in the world has tied up as an official partner for the Arjun Kapoor-starrer Half Girlfriend. Directed by Mohit Suri and set to be released on 19 May, the film is adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name.
Actors Arjun, Shraddha Kapoor and author Bhagat tweeted about the development to their followers. The alliance with NBA is natural as Arjun's character Madhav Jha plays basketball in college. Here's what Arjun tweeted.
They also announced the release date for the film (19 May) in the same tweet.
Arjun and producer Ekta Kapoor will come together for the second adaptation of a Bhagat novel with Half Girlfriend. They had collaborated for 2 States (2014) before which was also adapted from Bhagat's novel of the same name.
Half Girlfriend has been shot across New York City, Cape Town, Delhi and Bihar.
