Comedian Kapil Sharma’s film Firangi has brought little cheer to the television host. The pre-Independence drama collected Rs9.75 crore nett in its first week, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Produced by Sharma himself, Firangi’s fate was sealed when it made a meagre Rs6.50 crore nett in its opening weekend. The film made just over Rs3 crore nett in the weekdays.
Firangi review: Good story marred by bland execution
Firangi is said to be made at an estimated budget of Rs25 crore and released in around 1,500 screens in India.
The other film from last week, Tera Intezaar starring Sunny Leone, turned out to be a total dud, collecting Rs2.75 crore nett in its first week.
Meanwhile, Viday Balan’s Tumhari Sulu made Rs4.75 crore nett in its third week, taking its total so far to Rs31.89 crore nett.
