The Indian actor was honoured along with international artistes Patrick Stewart and Cate Blanchett yesterday.
Irrfan Khan gets special award at Dubai International Film Festival

Actor Irrfan Khan attended the 14th Dubai International Film Festival yesterday to receive a special award highlighting his ‘fascinating career’.
Khan walked the red carpet with wife Sutapa Sikdar before the ceremony.

International artistes Sir Patrick Stewart and Cate Blanchett were also present at the ceremony. Like Khan, Oscar-winner Blanchett accepted the special award, while Stewart was felicitated with a Lifetime Achievement award. The veteran actor will also hold a special ‘In Conversation’ at the festival.

Khan later tweeted his thanks to the festival with the caption, “Thank you @dubaifilm for the honour. It was a pleasure to share the same stage with #CateBlanchett , #PatrickStewart and #WahidHamed.”

Khan’s film The Song Of Scorpions (2017), with Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani and Indian veteran Waheeda Rehman, is playing at the festival. Three other Indian films, In The Shadows (2017) starring Manoj Bajpayee, Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds (2017) starring Ishaan Khattar, and 5 Rupees (2017) starring Shabana Azmi and directed by Piyush Chandrakant Panjuani, are also being screened at the festival.
