It has been a while since filmmakers have returned to the simple setting of a Mumbai chawl to tell their stories. Arjun Mukherjee's directorial debut, 3 Storeys seeks to do just that. The first teaser of the film captures the complex nature of three intertwined lives.
Produced by B4U Pictures and Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, the film is set around the lives of people living in a chawl in Mumbai. Whether it is an old lady who holds a secret stash of diamonds, or Sharman Joshi and Masumeh Makhija's love affair, or the inter-religious love between youngsters Ankit and Aisha, the teaser is intriguing and well-crafted. The issues of love, longing and loss add an emotional dimension. The sight of a mysterious dead body being carried away raises the element of intrigue in the teaser.
At first look, the film revolves around three parallel stories with a common thread of love. The film also has powerful performers in Renuka Shahane and Richa Chadha bringing up the rear.
Initially set to be released this year, the film is now scheduled to hit the theatre screens on 16 February 2018.
