Rajinikanth's official announcement that he would enter politics sent political and film circles of Tamil Nadu into a tizzy today.
Within minutes of the announcement, wishes began pouring in from his friends in the industry and from political leaders of the state.
But one special wish came in from long-time friend and rival and possible future political opponent Kamal Haasan.
Taking to Twitter within minutes of Rajinikanth's announcement that he would be launching a political party soon and contesting all 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, Kamal Haasan tweeted: Sahodarar Rajiniyin Samooga Unarvukkum Arasiyal varugaikkum Vazhthukkal. Varuga, varuga! [Congratulations and wishes to brother Rajinikanth for his social concern and his political entry. Welcome! Welcome!]
Rajinikanth today announced at a meeting with his fans his decision to contest the next assembly election in the state. He made it clear that he would launch his party once the assembly election is announced.
It may be recalled that Kamal Haasan has already announced his entry into politics and made it clear that he would be launching a party of his own as well.
Now, it remains to be seen if both actors will work together in politics or they will be rivals in the political arena as well.
