The new year is set to bring new films to the table. Among the early Marathi films to release in the year will be Ajay Naik's Hostel Days. The film, produced by Shree Parshwa Productions in association with Ajay Naik Productions, tells the story of life in the hostel during the 1990s.

Director Naik said, "Hostel life has always had a special place in the memory of all those who have lived in a hostel. And for those who couldn’t experience the hostel life ever, there has always been a fascination for it. The days spent in hostel always makes one nostalgic, while reminiscing those golden days of life."

The film is set in a hostel in Satara, and will cover issues such as the education reform, and the rise of private colleges across the state in the 1990s. Considering the youthful theme of the film, the makers of the film have added eight songs, sung by names like Kunal Ganjawala, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Kumar Sanu among others.

Producer Subhash Bora said, "We are very happy to announce our first film directed by the multitalented Ajay Naik” and added “the story deals with the hostel life in the early 1990s when there were no mobile phones and smartphones, no cable or dish TV, no internet and thus there was lot of fun. Hostel life back then was definitely more exciting than what it is now; hence today’s audiences will be reminded of those simpler times. This musical film with its refreshing music will be really a feast to the audience."
