Box office: Tiger Zinda Hai crosses Rs200 crore in first week!

After adding Rs15.50 crore on Thursday, the film's total now stands at Rs206 crore, approximately.

As expected, director Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai has crossed the Rs200 crore mark in the first week itself. The film, starring Salman Khan, earned Rs15.50 crore on Thursday, 28 December, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Tiger Zinda Hai review: Hero lives on, but logic dies

Its overall total now stands at Rs206 crore, approximately. This number was expected, given the fact that the film earned Rs150 crore in its first four days, helped by the Christmas holiday on Monday, 25 December.

On Tuesday, 26 December too, the film booked good earnings with Rs21.50 crore. Though the numbers have slightly fallen after Tuesday, the drop isn't enough to cause worry.

Khan’s last hit Sultan (2016) also reached the double century mark in its first week. Tiger Zinda Hai is only Rs2 crore short of the first week earnings of Sultan.

Also starring Katrina Kaif and Sajjad Delafrooz, Tiger Zinda Hai is Yash Raj Films’ most expensive venture till date with a budget of about Rs140 crore. Therefore, it was important for the film to book a massive earning in the first week. As per trade experts, it needs to finish at Rs250-300 crore to emerge successful. Given the performance so far, this target seems attainable.

After the surprising failure of his last film Tubelight (2017), looks like Khan is back to his usual winning ways.
