The first trailer of Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary had Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra in focus. Rakul Preet, who is the female lead, gets only a blink-and-miss appearance, quite lietrally.
But the song ‘Lae Dooba,’ released today, has her and Malhotra on the fore. The song narrates the budding romance between the two. Preet's character falling heads over heels for her colleague. It’s a welcome change as more often than not it is the guy who first takes the leap. As expected from a simple storyteller like Pandey, Preet and Malhotra are shown going through everyday routines that looks appealing.
It’s a slow, soothing romantic number with some moving and poetic lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. The line in between, ‘Aur phir aahista se jab chhoo ke tu nikle, Teri aanch mein dil mera, Dheeme dheeme pighle,’ is the best part of the song. Sunidhi Chauhan once again proves why she is still the go-to person for deep, romantic songs. Rochak Kohli’s tunes are as per the need.
But, not to forget, Aiyaary is an action thriller. Therefore, we can only hope that the roamntic song is just one of the emotions the film plans to evoke.
Aiyaary is all set to be released on 26 January 2018, clashing with the Akshay Kumar's Pad Man on the box office.
