Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, and Aanand L Rai’s much talked about, but yet untitled, venture with Shah Rukh Khan, were scheduled to clash at the box office on 21 December 2018. But now the makers of Kedarnath have decided to withdraw from the competition.

The producers have issued an official statement in this regard. “Kedarnath will not clash with SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), release date to shift from 21 Dec 2018,” it read.

This comes as a surprise as, according to a few reports yesterday, Kapoor confirmed Kedarnath's release with Rai's film. The reports also talked about a tussle between Kapoor and producer Prernaa Arora on the film's release date. While the former wanted it to clash with Rai's film, the latter wanted to avoid it. Arora is also said to have told Shah Rukh that Kedarnath's release will be delayed.

The makers haven’t decided on a new release date yet and an announcement is expected.

Kedarnath marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan.
