Dangal (2016) has paved the way for a better future for Zaira Wasim and Fatima Sana Shaikh. While the former bagged the lead role in the Aamir Khan-produced Secret Superstar (2017), the latter has been roped in for the Aamir Khan-starrer, Thugs Of Hindostan.
Sanya Malhotra, who played the role of the grown-up Babita Phogat in Dangal, now follows suit. The young Delhi woman has bagged her second film and will be paired with Ayushmann Khurrana in Junglee Pictures' upcoming project, Badhaai Ho.
The production house made the announcement on Twitter with the project set to go on the floors in January 2018.
The film will be directed by Amit Sharma, and the shooting will commence in Delhi in January. Earlier this year, Khurrana had collaborated with Junglee Pictures on the very successful Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017).
“I had a fantastic experience collaborating with Junglee Pictures for Bareilly Ki Barfi and working with them on Badhaai Ho is going to be exciting," Khurrana was quoted as saying on Junglee Pictures' Facebook page.
Amit Sharma had previously directed Tevar (2015).
