Rani Mukerji to interact with fans on social media for first time

Having avoided social media for long, the Hichki (2018) actress will interact with fans through YRF and Hichki's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

For film stars social media has become the preferred way to connect with fans and the elusive Rani Mukerji is also finally biting the bullet.

Having kept herself away from social media platforms so far, Mukerji is now set to promote her next film, Hichki (2018), using Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Hichki's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

"I’m aware that my fans want me to join social media and I would like to thank them for their continued and overwhelming love," the actress said in a statement. "I will be using the official social media platforms of YRF and Hichki to directly communicate with them. I’m excited to meet them, talk to them and share my film’s content with them online."

Mukerji, wife of YRF boss Aditya Chopra, is said to have made the decision after receiving countless requests from fans. "Audiences world over are consuming content on digital and they are sharing, liking and expressing their viewpoints on a piece of content on social media," her statement said. "It is an extremely important and effective medium for film promotions and I am looking forward to my first experience on this platform to promote a film that is extremely special and close to my heart.”

The actress will have the social media conference shortly along with the trailer launch of Hichki today (19 December). Hichki is set to be released on 23 February.
