Rajinikanth to announce entry in politics in January?

According to a source, 250 to 350 fans from each district in the state have been selected to meet the superstar, based on their involvement in the actor's fan club and social work.

Southern superstar Rajinikanth will meet his fans from 17 districts in the state at the Raghavendra Wedding Hall in Chennai over a six-day period beginning 26 December.

The news assumes significance as rumours are rife that the actor will be announcing his entry into politics early next month. The Tamil film industry is hoping that the actor will drop hints on his political decision during these meetings.

"Around 6,000 fans have been issued identity cards," said a source connected with the superstar's fan clubs. "This time there will be no entry for those without identity cards or invites. Rajini had met fans from 15 districts of the state earlier this year. Now he will meet fans from the remaining 17 districts including from Vellore and Chennai. The idea is to meet fans from Chennai last on 30 and 31 December."

The source also hinted that each district had been asked to send around 500 names of those who wished to meet the superstar. Of these, 250 to 350 fans were selected by the head office based on their involvement in the local Rajinikanth fan club and social work.

On an average, the superstar is expected to meet around 1,000 fans each day. He will meet them between 7am and 3pm. Fans have been advised not to bring family members along and also desist from falling at his feet.

Rajinikanth is expected to pose for pictures with each of his fans individually during this round of meetings.
