Karan Johar drops big hint about Janhvi and Ishaan’s character names in Dhadak

The producer revealed a new picture from the shoot, with two names carved on concrete.

It is one of the most keenly awaited films of 2018, especially given the hype the makers have generated around the Janhvi Kapoor's film debut so far. Dhadak has really managed to get the attention on social media. Producer Karan Johar has now released a new still from the sets. What makes the pictures intriguing is that Johar has given a strong hint about the characters that Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter will essay in the film.

As seen from the above, the image has the text, ‘Pari sang Madhuk’ (Pari with Madhuk) carved on a piece of concrete. They could well be the characters the two young actor play. But the key prop in the photograph is the presence of a revolver on the side, which points to the violence that will follow the two young lovers through the film.

Dhadak is the official remake of the Nagraj Manjule’s Marathi hit, Sairat (2016). Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan revealed to a news agency that the film is set in Rajasthan.

“The basic premise is of differences in caste, honour killing and what it means to survive in that world and I feel that is the conflict that is alive all across India, you will hear stories like that. So in that sense, the basic premise (of Dhadak and Sairat) is same. But there are variations. My story is based on another set up… It is (set) in Rajasthan. It comes with its own challenges, conflicts and style of a love story,” said Khaitan

Dhadak is set to be released in 2018.
