Shah Rukh Khan has praised student-turned-activist Gurmehar Kaur for showing courage and talking about her fears through a TV show, TED Talks India Nayi Soch.
Gurmehar Kaur has been popular for her debates on equality in Delhi University and came into the limelight following her comments on the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). She also put up a video on her Twitter feed about how 'war', not Pakistan, killed her father and was mercilessly trolled by right-wing extremists for it.
Gurmehar Kaur will be one of the speakers on the Star Plus show. She will speak on ‘You Have a Super Power — Your Words'.
"To open up about such fears and dilemma in front of a national audience showcases the courage inside you. I hope the path will get easier with time," Shah Rukh said in a statement.
The episode featuring Gurmehar Kaur will be aired on Sunday.
