Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma wedding: Shah Rukh, Amitabh, Priyanka, Sonam, other stars wish the couple

From Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar to Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor - a host of Hindi film industry members wished a "happily ever after" to newly weds - actress Anushka Sharma and cricket hero Virat Kohli, who tied the knot on 11 December in Italy.

Their nuptials, yet another union of Hindi cinema and cricket, were a close-knit family affair in Tuscany. They announced their new relationship status on social media, where congratulatory messages poured in soon after. 

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "Virat and Anushka, wishes and blessings on this most auspicious day in your lives. Happiness and togetherness ever." Superstar Shah Rukh Khan wished "happiness and health" to his "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" co-star and Kohli.

Karan sent out "tons of love" to the "beautiful couple", and added: "I wish them and their loved ones the best years ahead."

Co-star and friend Katrina Kaif wished the couple on Instagram. "Congratulations to both of you. @anushkasharma @virat.kohli all the love to u both. Anushka u look so beautiful. Wish u all the happiness in the world at the start of this new journey," she wrote.

Her Dil Dhadakne Do co-star, Priyanka Chopra congratulated the newly weds and added, "Your union is what fairy tales are made of. Wish you both every happiness that you ever wanted. Much love always!" 

Actor Riteish Deshmukh quipped, "From now onwards Virat Kohli will happily be the vice captain at home... Hail the new captain Anushka Sharma."

Many of her contemporaries, including Sonam Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandes and Shraddha Kapoor, also sent their wishes.

Other industry members like Neha Dhupia, Anil Kapoor, Kajol, Anupam Kher, Suniel Shetty, Farhan Akhtar, Kunal Kohli, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Abhishek Bachchan, Sridevi, Esha Gupta, Abhishek Kapoor, among others wished the "picture perfect" couple "marital bliss".
