Kareena wore pregnancy like a crown, says adoring Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan enjoys great adulation, especially from female fans. And it is not just the fans but also actresses, young and old, who admire Khan for his charisma and sense of humour.

The Raees (2017) star stole the show at an awards event last evening. The man known to fans of Hindi cinema as 'King Khan' shared the stage with a few actresses and paid glowing tribute to his Ra.One (2011) co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan.

“She is one of the few ladies in our country [who] wore her pregnancy like a crown, [carried it] with such pride and beauty," the actor said. "Recently, I met [her son] Taimur...". Kapoor Khan cut in here to remind the star that "in my pregnancy, I wore pants high above my tummy”.

The actress later picked up the 'I Am More Than You Can See' award.

Shah Rukh Khan also shared the stage with a few GenNext actresses. Secret Superstar (2017) actress Zaira Wasim got to shake a leg with the senior pro. She and her Dangal (2016) co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh picked up the Emerging Beauty of the Year award.

One doesn’t know what the banter was all about, but Shah Rukh Khan certainly amused Taapsee Pannu who, along with Bhumi Pednekar, picked up the Breakthrough Performer of the Year award.

Khan was the host for the evening and shared a golden moment with Katrina Kaif as well who picked up the Charismatic Beauty of the Year award.

Other winners on the night included Sridevi, who won the Power Packed Beauty of the Year award, Madhuri Dixit who won the Timeless Beauty of the Year award and Khan's close friend Juhi Chawla who picked up the Legendary Beauty award.
