Village Rockstars wins Fathy Farag Prize at Cairo International Film Festival

Filmmaker Rima Das's Village Rockstars continues to charm audiences around the world as it picked up more accolades this week. The film won the Fathy Farag Prize (for Best Artistic Contribution) in the International Critic's Week competition at the 39th Cairo International Film Festival.
Das shared a photograph of the trophy and certificate of the win on Twitter.

Additionally, on 19 November, it won the Spirit of the Festival award at the 62nd Cork Film Festival, Ireland's oldest film festival. The award was the feature's first international win.

Starring Bhanita Das, who plays a young girl wanting to learn and own a guitar, Village Rockstars continues its international festival journey. It is currently being screened at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
