Tumhari Sulu, starring Vidya Balan, has managed to earn Rs8.25 crore nett in its second week. Made at a budget of around Rs12 crore, the Suresh Triveni directorial has become a critical and commercial success, making Rs26.38 crore nett in two weeks.
The slice-of-life film is also Vidya's first hit in five years.
With Firangi releasing in theatres today, it remains to be seen how much Tumhari Sulu can add to its collections.
On the other hand, 24 November release, Julie 2, has turned out to be a huge disaster, making only Rs2.50 crore nett in its first week. The film's failure has led director Deepak Shivdasani seeking time to pay technicians who worked on the film.
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty's blockbuster comedy Golmaal Again ended its sixth week business with Rs70 lakh, approximately, taking the total box office earnings to Rs204.90 crore.
