The Lucknow Central soundtrack is turning out to be interesting. After the rocking 'Kaavan Kaavan', the makers have released the second song, 'Meer-e-Kaarwan', from the film today, 9 August.

Sung by Amit Mishra and Neeti Mohan, the song is a soulful ballad that tracks the journey of Kishan (Farhan Akhtar) and his band mates. The song carries within it a sufi touch that only adds to the visuals of the song.

Akhtar plays a jailed singer who hopes his music will help him escape from the walls of prison. The song also peeks into the peaceful backstories of the other band mates trapped in prison, who too have music as their only means of escape.

Rochak Kohli's composition is free flowing, balanced, and harmonious in its structure. The composer has balanced the guitar rhythm and a drum percussion to offer the foundation for Mishra and Mohan's voice to rise. Even when the electronic guitar solo comes in, it remains subdued for the vocals, lending the song a somewhat underwhelming feel. However, that plays well with the visuals.

Lucknow Central is directed by Ranjit Tiwari, and stars Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma, and Inaamul Haque, among others.

The film is set to be released on 15 September.
