Ayushmann Khurrana's serious state of mind is seen in this fun number, which is a good mix of Hinglish lyrics and folk tunes.

Going by the recently released first trailer of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the film seems to be a light-hearted take on a serious problem like erectile dysfunction. The latest song of the film, ‘Rocket Saiyyan' complements the take on the subject perfectly.
It is a fun number which arrives at the situation when the lead characters, played Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, are about to get married and the preparations are in full-swing. The tempo is fast enough to make it a dance number, although there is only a little bit dancing in the song video.
Although the video is just over two minutes, it is enough to established the underlying tension and worry felt by Ayushmann’s character. This is easily seen by his lack of interest in the pre-marriage celebrations and the growing nervousness born out of his condition of erectile dysfunction. But at the same time, the incidents also give a feeling as if it is a spoof of the mandatory pre-wedding antics.
A mix of instruments like shehnai, trumpets and harmonium and the accompanying electronic beats used by composer duo Tanishk-Vayu play a large role in making the song earthy, folk and contemporary at the same time. The lyrics are a mix of contemporary English and Hindi. ‘Rocket Saiyyan’ is energetically sung by Ritu Pathak, who reminds you a lot of Sunidhi Chauhan.
Directed by RS Prasanna, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is all set to be released on 1 September.
