The latest song, ‘Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya’, from David Dhawan’s upcoming Judwaa 2, a remake of his earlier 1997 hit, lands on an auspicious day — the seventh day of visarjan (immersion). It features the street-smart twin Raja (Varun Dhawan) celebrating Ganpati Bappa in an elaborately decorated song sequence.
The song has been composed by Sajid Wajid and the lyrics are by Danish Sabri. Amit Mishra lends his voice for Dhawan as he sings to Ganpati Bappa about the all the women that are after him. ‘Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya’ has the usual tempo and tunes one can expect in situational song that revolves around the elephant god.
However, towards the end of the song, as the crescendo rises, Dhawan’s Raja pauses to beat up some bad guys along the way and gets back to busting some moves at the pandal (marquee). Dhawan is seen enjoying, as he belly dances his way into the god's good books.
Judwaa 2, starring Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez, is due to be released on 29 September.
