The actor was rushed to the ICU of Lilavati Hospital on 2 August, in Mumbai, after suffering from dehydration.

Screen legend, Dilip Kumar, 94 years, was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday, 2 August. The actor was rushed to the hospital after complaining of dehydration. He was accompanied by wife, actress Saira Banu. Reports suggest that the actor was suffering from fever since the past two days.
Reports quoted a source saying, "He was admitted with dehydration. He is stable."
The actor has been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of years. In December 2016, Kumar was admitted to the same hospital after he complained of fever and a swollen leg.
The actor, who turned 94 on December 11, 2016, was discharged a few days later. He even posted a picture on Twitter, showing him cutting a cake.

Earlier in June, the actor had tweeted a picture of himself resting at home, suggesting that he is struggling with 'irregular sleep pattern' and can no longer bear 'camera flash.'

Born Yusuf Khan, Kumar rose to the pinnacle of Hindi cinema through films like Andaz (1949), Aan (1952), Devdas (1955), and the iconic Mughal-E-Azam (1960). Known for his ability to portray pathos, Kumar is considered by many to be the finest method actor seen by the country.
He received the Padma Bhushan award in 1991, the Dadasaheb Phalke award in 1994 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award in 1993, and has won the Best actor award a record 8 times.
