Kangana Ranaut's Simran might have been in the news for all the wrong reasons, but the latest song from the film certainly puts things in perspective. Released on 25 August, the song, 'Meet', is a beautiful, slow melody that underlines Simran's search and desire for love.

Composed by Sachin-Jigar, and sung by the perennial Arijit Singh, the song is a sweet melody that plays the perfect sub-text to the visuals on screen. The video for the song shows the journey of the vivacious Praful Patel (Kangana Ranaut) and her mysterious personality. The three interactions she has in the video, with a co-worker, a stranger at a casino, and finally Sohum Shah's character, define her search for love.

The lyrics, by Priya Saraiya, also play up this very search for companionship. Ranaut plays a divorcee and a loner in the process of self-discovery. Her constant search for adventure and excitement leads her across these men. Yet, not all of them manage to understand her nature. This sense of melancholy adds another dimension to a very sweetly sung melody.

Simran also stars Esha Tewari Pande and Aneesha Joshi. The film is directed by Hansal Mehta, and is slated to be released on 15 September.
