Twinkle Khanna defends her tweet on open defecation

Twinkle Khanna, who goes by the Twitter handle @mrs.funnybones, is a hit on social media with her jokes and witty observations. A few days ago, Khanna posted a picture of a man defecating on a Mumbai beach, on her Twitter account. Cheekily, Khanna said it was the "first scene of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha 2."

The picture posted by Khanna was cheeky enough, but it was also read as promoting her husband's film by highlighting the prevalence of open defecation even in a place like Mumbai. Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was released on 11 August and has joined the Rs100 crore bandwagon.

While most people saw the lighter side of it, there were a few who weren’t amused by Khanna’s actions. For example, this user asked Khanna to build a toilet for people living in the slums.

Some even used this as an opportunity to mock Khanna for her poor acting career. 

Unfazed by the trolls, Khanna defended her post saying the timing of her husband's film and this incident were purely 'ironical'.
