Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’s 'Laddoo' song:  A lyrical, light hearted take on a man's impotency

The thematic lyrics, neat desi beats, Singh’s singing and Khurrana and Pednekar’s various emotions make the 'Laddoo' song a pleasure to watch.

Impotency is no laughing matter, but one ought to look at the lighter side of problems. Ayushmann Khuranna's character Mudit is impotent in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, which forms the crux of the film. And this problem is highlighted in a sweet manner in the 'Laddoo' song.

Music director duo, Tanishk Bagchi and Vayu, have not only scored the music but have also penned the sweet-and-sour track. It’s sweet for it celebrates the budding romance of Mudit and Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar). And this romance is tested with the sour truth of Mudit's impotency. The 'Laddoo' song is a fun filled track that beats to fine desi tunes.

The highly engrossing singing by Mika Singh emotes both the emotional turmoil of the characters and the comic underlay in the song.

The lyrics and the visuals complement Singh's voice that oscillates between Mudit's embarrasment and Sugandha's struggle. Therein lies the success of the track. You feel for Khurrana as he runs from pillar to post, seeking a remedy for his malady. He even visits the self-proclaiming healers like, Baba Bangali.

The thematic lyrics, neat desi beats, Singh’s singing, and Khurrana and Pednekar’s acting make the 'Laddoo' song a must to watch.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is set to be released on 1 September.
