Box office: Bareilly Ki Barfi has an average Monday, Annabelle Creation is a hit


Bareilly Ki Barfi earned Rs1.75 crore and Annabelle Creations bagged an impressive Rs3.75 crore on 21 August.

Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi had an average first Monday, 21 August. The film, which stars Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana, made Rs1.75 crore on the day, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. 

The film hadn’t opened well on Friday, earning about Rs2.25 crore. However, with some very positive word-of-mouth and reviews, its earnings showed a jump on Saturday and Sunday, making Rs4 crore and Rs5 crore, respectively. The film finished the first weekend at Rs11.25 crore. 

With the positive feedback, one expected the film's Monday collections to be on par with the earning on Friday. But, the results aren't very good. 

Bareilly Ki Barfi is reportedly made at a cost of Rs20 crore. As it has so far earned Rs13 crore, the film has some chances of reaching its cost of production, however, all depends on its performance during the weekdays.

Hollywood horror movie Annabelle Creations has turned out to be a surprise hit in India. The film earned an impressive Rs3.75 crore on Monday, taking the grand total to Rs26 crore. 

Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha earned a decent Rs2.75 crore on its second Monday, yesterday. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh,the film has so far earned a total Rs115.50 crore, turning out to be yet another box office success for the actor.
