Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi has earned decent numbers at the box office in the first weekend. The film, starring Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana, has earned Rs10.75 crore approximately in the first weekend, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com

The film didn’t open well on Friday as it made only Rs2.25 crore. There was some growth on Saturday with collections of Rs3.75 crore. The film showed a good jump on Sunday by making Rs4.75 crore. The positive reviews and word-of-mouth has been helping the film.

Bareilly Ki Barfi is reportedly made at a cost of Rs20 crore. With Rs10 crore in the kitty, the film needs to continue its decent run in the weekdays starting today if it wants to be a safe bet for the producers. It can't afford a big drop in the weekdays as the film mostly has only one week to perform well. With too many films lined up for release this Friday (25 August), it might struggle to get a good number of screens.

Hollywood horror movie Annabelle Creation has turned out to be a pleasant surprise too. The film has earned Rs22 crore at the Indian box office in the first weekend, which also included paid previews before the release.
