Madhuri Dixit: Bringing Priyanka for the TV show was perfect

Madhuri Dixit is back in India after a summer holiday in the US and took to Facebook to confirm her upcoming US television project with Priyanka Chopra.

The actress claimed "many amazing announcements" were forthcoming and to "stay tuned for much more".

In a statement given to the DNA newspaper, Dixit said, "I was pleasantly surprised in the summer of 2016 when Sri [Rao] said he wanted to do a series inspired by my life in America. As Ram [Dr Shriram Nene, her husband] and I chatted with Sri, the story evolved and Mark Gordon Productions came on board, wanting to produce it. Bringing on Priyanka was perfect in that she had experience with the landscape."

Chopra begins shooting for season 3 of Quantico soon and after her Hollywood film debut with Baywatch last May, she will be seen in the upcoming films A Kid Like Jake (2018) and Isn't It Romantic (2019).

Sri Rao, who is writing and producing the series, also tweeted: "Honored and privileged that the iconic @MadhuriDixit entrusted me with a story inspired by her life".

The television show will focus on a former star of the Hindi screen who settles down in US suburbia after marriage. Quantico producers Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper have signed on as executive producers of the show along with Chopra.
