Toilet: Ek Prem Katha bags Rs94 crore nett in week one

After the initial high, the collection of Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has been falling. It earned approximately Rs6 crore on Thursday (17 August), taking its week one total to Rs94 crore nett, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The Thursday collection was slightly lesser than Wednesday’s collection (Rs6.50 crore). Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was released across 3,000 screens in India. Its opening weekend collection was Rs50 crore nett, and it saw a huge jump with a collection of Rs19.50 crore on Independence Day (15 August).
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was sold to distributors Viacom18 Motion Pictures for Rs53 crore, that didn’t include Akshay Kumar’s fees. Its overall budget is said to be around Rs70 crore. Earlier, trade analyst Vinod Merani had told Cinestaan.com that Toilet needed to do a business of Rs120-125 crore for the distributors to make profits.
This Friday, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao’s Bareilly Ki Barfi hits the theatres. The other releases are director Sandeep Mohan's Shreelancer and director Gurinder Chadha's Partition: 1947.
