Exclusive: After Katyar Kaljat Ghusli, Subodh Bhave to direct second film next year

Well-known Marathi film actor Subodh Bhave turned director with the musical Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015). The film was highly appreciated and it also turned out to be a box office success. The film’s songs also became a rage. 

After handling such a difficult subject with precision in his directorial debut, there has obviously been keen anticipation for his second film as a director. 

During an exclusive conversation with Cinestaan.com, Bhave revealed that he would be returning to direction next year. 

When asked when we could see him as director again, he said, “It will be soon. Next year I will go on sets for that. Preparations are going on currently. I will soon announce the name of the film and what it is exactly.” 

Katjar Kaljat Ghusali was a period musical film starring Bhave, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Shankar Mahadevan and Amruta Khanvilkar. It was based on a classical singer’s obsession to be at the top at any cost. 

Bhave will next be seen in Swapna Joshi’s Tula Kalnar Nahi, where he is paired opposite Sonali Kulkarni for the first time. The film also stars Swwapnil Joshi, who is also the film’s producer. Bhave and Joshi had starred together in Swapna’s Fugay which released earlier in the year.
