Back in June, Nawazuddin Siddiqui had created a stir after he posted a tweet hinting at possible racism against him in the industry.
The actor didn't make any more comments about his grievance then. While promoting his next Babumoshai Bandookbaaz in Hyderabad, Siddiqui was asked about the tweet and it turns out that the actor was taking a swipe at celebrities who endorse fairness creams.
"I don’t believe in things like colour and complexion. These sort of comments are not right because in our country, almost 90 per cent of the population is brown-skinned. A lot of people promote fairness creams, which means you are giving an inferiority complex to that 90 per cent of Indians. You have to be very responsible. Celebrities shouldn’t be promoting fairness creams. It is absolutely wrong. We should condemn it," Siddiqui told the media.
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is a dark, crime drama. Given the actor's sensual scenes in the film, the actor was asked about the lusty aspect to his character and whether it upset his wife.
“You’re making me give naughty answers. But yes, my wife was upset with me and didn’t talk to me for two days,” Khan replied.
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is set to be released on 25 August.
