Shah Rukh Khan made an Independence Day visit to his idol, and thespian, Dilip Kumar, at the latter's home on Tuesday. Khan dropped in to enquire about Kumar's health after his recent bout with illness.
Kumar was discharged from the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on 9 August, after having spent a week treating dehydration and other kidney related ailments. The 94-year-old actor has been in ill-health for the last couple of years, but is currently doing well at home.
Writing about the visit, actress Saira Banu put up a tweet saying, 'Message from Saira Banu: Sahab's mooh-bola beta-"son" @iamsrk visited Sahab today. Sharing some photos of the evening.'

The pictures show the affection Khan shares with Kumar, who once offered the star the advice to 'work hard'. Khan has often mentioned the veteran actor as one of his idols.
The Jab Harry Met Sejal actor even planted a loving kiss on Kumar's forehead wishing him a speedy recovery.

Khan once said of Kumar, "You can’t imitate Dilip sahib. No one can dare copy him and whoever does so, are idiots like me. I cannot become like Dilip sahib and can’t even think of it." However, the actor did step into one of Kumar's most celebrated roles, Devdas, in 2002.
