Siddhath Malhotra and Varun Dhawan started their career together in the same film – Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year (2012). It is a co-incidence that the two of them are playing a double role not only in the same year but in just a span of few months.

Siddharth is doing that in his upcoming film A Gentleman while Varun is starring in Judwaa 2, which is the remake of Judwaa (1997) by the same filmmaker, David Dhawan.

When this was pointed out to Siddharth during a media conversation, he joked saying, “I know. I keep telling him that we started it first and he just wanted to copy us.”

But he was quick to add on a serious note, “I think it’s an unfair comparison because his (Varun’s) film is based on that (double role). Judwaa is a franchise we have all seen. And our film is not purely based on this double role confusion. It’s a part of it and it’s not at all same. So, when you see the film, you will realize that there is no question of comparison.”

In A Gentleman, Siddharth plays a simpleton and a risk taking adventurous character.
