The presence of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan was expected to create trouble for Shah Rukh Khan and the makers of Raees (2017). Luckily, Khan and his team didn’t face as much trouble as Karan Johar, who had quite hard time getting his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil released.

Mahira’s role was kept to a minimum, and she was not involved in the film promotions.  Nearly eight months after the film was released, Mahira has revealed that she felt like being punched in the stomach when she found that the mention of her name in the credits was not accompanied by 'introducing', as reported by, news aganecy IANS.

Khan was speaking at the Aga Khan University in Karachi.

The actress expressed her sadness and claimed that this was not the first time she experienced this. "My name was missed as the Bol (Pakistani - 2011) credits scrolled in front of me. Then for Raees, even though the teaser said ‘introducing Mahira Khan', I felt like being punched in the stomach when there was no such credit in the film itself,” added the actress.

The political tension between India and Pakistan didn’t allow Khan to come for promotions in Indian and the film was banned in Pakistan. "Then when it was released, I was banned in India and the film was banned in Pakistan,” said Khan who was refering to the unofficial ban of Pakistani artistes in India.

Despite, not getting the due credit, Khan isn’t too perturbed.

“It is a big thing to work in a foreign film. I pray I get my introducing credit when I work in an Iranian film. Failure is knowledge and knowledge is success. So it is a win-win. We actors know how to paint smiles on our faces and carry on, I did too,” added the Raees actress.

Khan is a popular figure in India too, with her TV show Humsafar cutting across both the nations. Post Raees, Khan has not worked in any Indian project.
